Stow Town Coffee sits right in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold, making it a natural stopping point whenever you need to pause your wandering.
The cafe does good coffee and tea, with pastries and sandwiches available if you want something more substantial. It feels genuinely welcoming without any pretension, which is exactly what you want from a proper local spot.
The town itself has real historical depth. Medieval wool merchants built their wealth here, and you can still read that history in the buildings and how the streets are laid out. The old market cross is worth seeking out, and St. Edward's Church has an unusual Yew Tree door that catches most visitors' attention. Independent shops and antique dealers are scattered throughout, so you could easily spend a couple of hours browsing between coffee breaks.
What makes Stow particularly valuable is how well it works as a base for exploring the wider area. Bourton-on-the-Water and Moreton-in-Marsh are both a short drive away, so you could realistically visit several places in one day if you wanted to be ambitious. The cafe functions nicely as a comfortable midpoint in your travels, giving you a proper seat and a warm drink to recharge before moving on to your next destination.
