Primrose Cottage is a self-catering place to stay in Nailsworth, a market town with real character that works brilliantly as a base for exploring the Cotswolds.

The town has carved out its own identity, with independent shops, artisan bakeries, and plenty of cafes and restaurants worth visiting. What makes Nailsworth special is its location in one of the steep Five Valleys—the streets wind up and down following the hillside, which means you can walk straight out your door into genuinely good walks without needing the car at all.

From here, you're nicely positioned to explore further into Gloucestershire. Stroud is just a short drive away if you want to catch the Saturday farmers market or check out its thriving arts scene. Head south toward Tetbury and you'll find clusters of antique shops and a town with some royal connections in its past. Cirencester lies to the east, featuring Roman remains and an impressive Abbey Church alongside streets that tell centuries of local history. The wider landscape is excellent for walking and cycling, with rolling hills and characteristic villages in all directions. Staying at Primrose Cottage gives you a comfortable base where you can properly settle in, soak up the local atmosphere, and still reach everything the region has to offer without any hassle.
