Head a little north of Cheltenham and you'll find a small village that offers an unusual combination of rural calm and genuine motorsport excitement.
What makes this place stand out is the Prescott Hill Climb, a famous racing event that has been drawing competitors for decades. The challenging uphill course attracts classic and modern cars alike, and if you time your visit for an event day, you'll witness some genuinely thrilling driving.
The Bugatti Owners' Club is based here, and their museum provides a real window into British racing heritage. Even when there are no events scheduled, it's worth spending time exploring the collection and learning about the cars and drivers that have tackled this course over the years.
Away from the track, the village itself maintains the quieter character you'd expect from this part of the Cotswolds. The traditional stone buildings and rolling countryside walks create a proper rural setting, quite different from the busier honey-coloured villages elsewhere in the region.
You'll find yourself well positioned for exploring further afield too. Winchcombe, a proper market town with good facilities and access to Sudeley Castle, is only a short drive away. Cheltenham's Regency attractions lie to the south if you're after something more urban. It's the sort of place that appeals to anyone wanting something a bit different from the standard Cotswold experience.
