in Stratton St Margaret

Orchard House is a bed-and-breakfast located in South Marston, a small village on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds.

Highworth Road, SN3 4QL

It's the kind of place that lets you enjoy genuine village peace while keeping you well connected to everything the region has to offer.

South Marston itself rewards a slower pace. You can wander the lanes at leisure, and there's a church and The Carpenter's Arms pub where you can eat without having to travel far in the evening. From here, the wider Cotswolds opens up easily. Head west and you'll reach Cirencester, a proper market town layered with Roman history and lined with independent shops. Lechlade and Fairford sit nearby too, each bringing their own riverside character to the mix.

The location also works well if you're arriving by train or need bigger facilities. Swindon is just a short drive away with all the usual shopping, restaurants, and transport links you might need. What makes this spot work is the balance it strikes. You get genuine quiet in the evenings, but you're never more than half an hour from a bustling market town if you want energy and activity. It's somewhere you can plan your days as they come—some mornings might mean staying put and exploring locally, others might be the perfect time to venture further afield and use the house as your base for discovering new corners of the region.
