Lower Noverton is a tiny hamlet deep in the northern Cotswolds where you can genuinely escape the crowds.
The settlement consists of honey-coloured stone buildings scattered across open countryside and gentle rolling hills, the kind of architecture you'll see throughout the region, built over centuries by local craftspeople. It's grown quietly from its roots as a farming community, and that authentic character remains largely unchanged.
This isn't the place to come for shops or major attractions. Instead, it's about embracing the stillness—breathing the fresh air, watching the landscape, and letting the real quiet of the countryside settle around you. If you enjoy walking, you're in excellent territory. Footpaths lead directly from the hamlet into the surrounding landscape, giving you easy access to some genuinely rewarding routes through the hills and fields.
What makes Lower Noverton particularly useful as a base is its location. You're only a short drive from Broadway, which has built a reputation for independent shops and galleries, or you can head to Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold, both proper market towns with proper amenities and plenty of places to eat. So while you get genuine peace and solitude here, you're never far from the busier side of the Cotswolds when you want it.
