This small hamlet in the northern Cotswolds sits on a rise with broad views across Gloucestershire countryside, reaching towards the Malvern Hills when visibility is good.

It's primarily residential rather than a destination packed with attractions, which actually makes it feel genuinely local and undeveloped in a way many visitors appreciate.

The main draw here is getting outdoors. Walking trails thread through the surrounding hills, offering plenty of scope for a straightforward country walk among rolling terrain. If you're on a bike, Aggs Hill itself has earned a reputation among cyclists for its punishingly steep climb – it's the kind of challenge that rewards determined effort with impressive views from the top. The hamlet itself features the characteristic honey-coloured stone houses typical of the region, giving it that timeless rural character.

Location-wise, you're well positioned. It's just a short drive north of Cheltenham, so it works nicely as a day trip if you're based in town. Bishops Cleeve is nearby too if you need shops or services. This is really the place to come when you want the quieter, less visited side of the Cotswolds – somewhere to walk or cycle without the crowds you'll find at the popular market towns, and somewhere to simply experience the landscape as it actually is rather than as a packaged experience.
