This isolated hill rises dramatically from the Vale of Evesham, offering sweeping views across eight parishes from its summit.
At the top stands Parsons Folly, an 18th-century stone tower that was built as a summer retreat for a local squire. You can still climb up and take in the panoramic countryside that captivated visitors centuries ago. The walk up rewards you with a real sense of elevation and escape, quite different from the gentler slopes you'll find elsewhere in the region. What makes this place distinctive is how geology and history combine here—the steep terrain itself is unusual for the Cotswolds, and the folly adds a layer of human interest that transforms a simple hilltop into something memorable. It's the sort of walk that genuinely feels removed from everyday surroundings, even though you're well within reach of nearby towns. The views from up there justify the effort, particularly if you visit on a clear day when the vista stretches far across the Vale.
