Dunthrop is a small hamlet in Oxfordshire countryside, positioned roughly midway between Chipping Norton and Banbury.

The landscape here has been shaped by the Swere River to the northwest and a tributary of the Cherwell flowing from the north, creating a genuinely rural atmosphere that sits well away from the busier parts of the region. An ancient drovers' road called Green Lane forms the southern boundary of the hamlet, evidence of the trading routes that wound through these hills for centuries. With around 253 residents, Dunthrop offers a chance to experience the Cotswolds in one of its quieter and more authentic settings. The combination of water courses, traditional land patterns, and historical routes makes this a good place to understand how the countryside here has developed over time. It's the kind of location where you can take a proper walk without the crowds, following paths that locals have used for generations.
