The village hall for Down Ampney, on the main road through the village near the primary school; look for the red telephone box outside.
It is run entirely by volunteers, and the community shop, with its post office and café, adjoins it.
The main hall is licensed for 140 people, with a lounge bar (the Dakota Room), a servery and a smaller meeting room, the Wynne Room. There is a car park for 30 to 40 cars and step-free access to both floors. The hall holds Hallmark status, the quality standard for village halls.
Alongside private hire, it runs events open to the public: a pub night, usually on the second Friday of the month in the Dakota Room bar, and a film night, usually on the last Friday. Dates are published in the Down Ampney Newsletter, and bookings are made through the hall's website.
