This EV charging depot sits just outside Cirencester in the Stratton area, offering a practical place to top up your battery while travelling through the Cotswolds.
The depot itself is functional and straightforward, but what makes it worthwhile is how close you are to Cirencester, which really does serve as the heart of the region.
Once you've plugged in, you're perfectly positioned to explore one of England's most historically significant towns. Cirencester was Corinium Dobunnorum during Roman times, one of Britain's most important settlements from that era. You can still walk among the remains of the Roman Amphitheatre or visit the Corinium Museum to understand what life was like two thousand years ago. The town's medieval period left its mark too, most notably in the impressive St. John Baptist Church, and the Abbey Grounds offer pleasant green space for a wander.
Beyond the history, Cirencester has developed into a lively market town with a good selection of independent shops and cafes where you can grab a coffee or lunch. The Stratton area where the charging point sits is mainly residential, but it's just a short walk or drive into the town centre, so there's no sense of being stranded while you wait.
If you need to charge your vehicle anyway, you might as well spend an hour or two getting to know this substantial Cotswolds town while you're there.
