An immaculate footpath at Setts Farm The Macmillan Way long distance path runs past Setts Farm. The owner realises the need to maintain a well-kept footpath for the all-important walkers and has mowed this, complete with stripes. Thank you.

This quiet corner of the Cotswolds offers a true taste of rural tranquility.

A small hamlet forming part of the wider Chedworth parish, it's a place where rolling hills meet narrow country lanes, inviting you to slow down and take in the natural beauty. There isn't a bustling village centre here, but rather a collection of scattered homes and farms set amidst green fields.

The main reason many visit this part of the Cotswolds is to explore the magnificent Chedworth Roman Villa, a short distance away. Managed by the National Trust, it's one of the most important Roman sites in Britain. You can wander through the remains of opulent rooms, marvel at intricate mosaic floors, and see the ancient bathhouses and hypocaust underfloor heating systems that speak volumes about Roman life and engineering. The villa's discovery in the 19th century unveiled a remarkable window into Britain's Roman past.

For those who enjoy walking, the surrounding footpaths offer lovely routes through woodland and across open countryside, providing splendid views. While you won't find shops or pubs right in the hamlet, larger market towns like Cirencester, with its Roman heritage and amenities, are easily accessible by car, as is Northleach, a charming smaller town worth a stop. It's a place for quiet contemplation and historical discovery.
