Things to do
in Adderbury

Adderbury sits at the northern edge of Cotswold country, and it's the kind of village you can get to know properly in an afternoon rather than a fortnight. Within roughly two miles you'll find places to stay, spots to eat and drink, somewhere to visit, a walking route, and a shop worth a browse, a manageable, unhurried collection that suits anyone who'd rather potter than tick off a list. It works equally well as a base for a longer stay in the area or as a stop on the way through, and because everything sits close together, you can leave the car and cover most of it on foot.

A good few hours might begin at Adderbury Lakes, where the water and the trees make an easy, level start to the day. From there, the Adderbury Circular Walk takes you out into the surrounding countryside and back again without needing a map in your hand the whole time. Come back into the village for lunch or a drink at The Bell Inn, then finish with a look around Victorian Pine before you decide whether to stay the night at Hannah's Cottage.
