This long-distance footpath through Worcestershire rewards walkers with a genuine taste of rural countryside.
The section around Throckmorton is particularly rewarding, taking you across fields, along quiet lanes, and through peaceful pathways that feel a world away from crowded routes elsewhere.
The walk works well whether you're planning a full day out or prefer shorter stretches. As you go, you'll move through the Vale of Evesham, an area famous for its market gardening and fruit orchards, where the land has been actively farmed for centuries. The small villages you encounter along the way often have historic churches and older buildings that reflect the region's deep agricultural roots and long history of settlement.
Although the footpath itself is a more modern addition, walking it connects you to landscapes that have been shaped by human activity for generations. There's something satisfying about following routes through land that's still working and changing with the seasons.
When you need a proper break, the market towns of Evesham and Pershore are both conveniently near. They're good for grabbing food, doing some shopping, or simply sitting down for a rest before heading back. Either town makes a sensible base if you're exploring this part of Worcestershire more broadly.
