Wormington is a small village in the heart of the Cotswolds, sitting in the vale between the escarpment and the River Isbourne.
Life here moves at a slower pace, with stone cottages scattered along quiet lanes and plenty of countryside walks starting from your doorstep. The village itself is modest but genuinely appeals to visitors seeking somewhere off the main tourist trail while remaining accessible to bigger towns like Cheltenham and Broadway, both within easy driving distance.
The area rewards exploration on foot. You can wander through surrounding farmland and woodland, with good footpaths linking to nearby villages like Stanton and Snowshill. If history interests you, Wormington Grange sits just south of the village—a Grade II* listed house dating from the 1770s that represents the area's connection to Cotswolds country house heritage. The main church and traditional buildings tell the story of a rural community that's changed little over centuries.
The village works well as a base for exploring the central Cotswolds. You're close enough to visit market towns and attractions elsewhere in the region, but staying here gives you the genuine experience of village life rather than the busier honeypot locations. It's ideal if you want peace and countryside without compromising access to everything else the area has to offer.
