The Siam Smile is a Thai restaurant in Charlton Kings, just outside Cheltenham, where you can get genuine Southeast Asian cooking if you fancy something beyond the usual Cotswolds fare.

The kitchen handles curries, stir-fries, and noodle dishes with real care, and you can pitch your spice level anywhere from mild and creamy to properly hot depending on what appeals to you. They work through the classics reliably, so there's normally something that'll suit most people.
Charlton Kings itself is conveniently positioned whether you're staying in Cheltenham or passing through after exploring the eastern Cotswolds. It's straightforward to reach by car or bus from Cheltenham. The village won't win any awards for postcard appeal, but that's actually useful because you get a sense of how locals live rather than wandering through a tourist corridor. There are proper shops and amenities scattered around too.
If you're thinking of pairing dinner here with other things, there's plenty nearby. Cheltenham, just a short drive away, merits an afternoon for its Regency buildings and regular cultural calendar. The Cotswold escarpment is practically on your doorstep for walking, with solid views across the surrounding countryside. The Siam Smile works equally well as a destination in itself or as a convenient place to eat while you're moving between activities in the area.
