The Firs is a camping and holiday cottage site in Welland that lets you choose how you want to stay while using the location as a base for exploring this stretch of the Cotswolds and beyond.
The village itself is genuinely quiet, so you get a real sense of rural Worcestershire without much fuss. What makes this spot particularly appealing is the immediate access to the Malvern Hills, which rise dramatically right nearby and offer serious walking terrain with views sweeping across the Severn Valley and out towards the broader Cotswolds landscape.
The location works really well for day trips. Great Malvern, a short drive away, is a Victorian spa town with elegant architecture, a working theatre, and an abbey that's worth your time. Head south and you'll reach Ledbury, a proper market town full of black and white timber-framed buildings that give it real character. Tewkesbury is also within easy reach if medieval history appeals to you, particularly its abbey and its connections to the Wars of the Roses. Whether you're after serious walking in the hills or exploring the towns and villages dotted across the region, The Firs works well as a comfortable base where you can return each evening to settle in properly. The combination of countryside walking and accessible market towns makes it a flexible spot for quite different kinds of trips.
