This is a restaurant in Charlton Kings where you can expect straightforward, well-executed food and genuine hospitality.
The kitchen takes care with what comes out of it, and the team behind the counter makes a real effort to look after everyone equally, whether you've been coming for years or you've just wandered in. It's the sort of place that works equally well for a casual lunch or a proper dinner, and you'd be just as happy taking friends there as you would family after a day's exploring nearby.
The location strikes a useful balance if you're staying in Cheltenham and want to eat somewhere that feels like a village without having to go far, or if you're already moving around the wider Cotswolds anyway. Charlton Kings is close enough to town that it's easy to reach, but far enough out that you genuinely feel like you've stepped away from things. There's something appealing about being able to sit down somewhere quiet, eat well, and take your time over it, all without needing to venture too far from everything else the region has to offer.
