Just outside Pershore in the village of Pinvin, you'll find a working retail market that operates much like it has for years—independent traders setting up stalls with whatever's in season or in demand.
It's the kind of place where you experience commerce as it actually happens rather than in a polished retail setting, and there's something genuinely satisfying about browsing without fluorescent lights and background music.
The stalls vary depending on what's available, but you'll regularly find fresh produce from the Vale of Evesham, which is serious fruit and vegetable country. Alongside the seasonal veg and soft fruits, traders sell craft items, plants, and occasionally pre-loved goods or collectibles. The whole atmosphere tends to be friendly and unhurried, and you're supporting small traders rather than big chains.
Pershore itself is definitely worth exploring once you've finished at the market. The town has an impressive Abbey and sits nicely along the river, which looks particularly appealing during plum season when the local orchards are in full swing. From here you're well-positioned to reach Evesham if you want to learn more about the region's fruit-growing heritage, or Worcester city if you're after a wider range of shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions. It's a useful spot to remember if you're working your way around the western edges of the Cotswolds.
