This small village in West Berkshire is home to around 300 residents, the kind of tight-knit community where locals really do know each other.

You'll find it positioned at the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, where the landscape transitions from rolling hills into the broader Thames Valley. Rather than being a major visitor hotspot, Peasemore trades on something quieter—it's the sort of place worth stopping at if you want to step away from the busier market towns that pull most travellers. Traditional stone cottages line the lanes, and there's a genuine continuity to village life that hasn't fundamentally changed in generations. The surrounding farmland and woodland are pleasant for casual walking, and it makes a sensible base for visiting larger villages like Hermitage and Compton Beauchamp, both within easy reach by car. If you're staying in Wantage or travelling toward Reading, Peasemore works well as a peaceful break in your journey and offers an honest sense of how the Cotswolds gradually merge into the wider English countryside. There aren't many formal attractions here, but that's largely the appeal.
