This small village in Tewkesbury Borough rewards those who find it, often by accident.

Laverton sits just south of Buckland as a peaceful cluster of stone cottages and farmhouses built from the golden Cotswold limestone that gives the region its distinctive character. Several of the buildings date back to at least the 17th century, making the architecture around you genuinely historic.

The village itself is quiet and residential, offering a real sense of rural Cotswolds life away from the busier tourist centres. You can wander the lanes at your own pace, admire the stonework, and stop for coffee or a meal at a local establishment if you find one open. A long distance walking path passes through the village, making it a natural stopping point if you're hiking the wider Cotswolds network. Tewkesbury is nearby and offers more shops and services if you need them, while Laverton sits well for exploring the broader area.

This is fundamentally walking country. Bring comfortable shoes and plan to spend an hour or two simply absorbing the atmosphere rather than hunting for attractions. You'll get more from Laverton by treating it as a quiet interlude between longer walks than by expecting a destination in itself.
