This small hamlet sits in the Coln Valley near Bibury, one of the Cotswolds' most visited villages.
The main draw here is Bibury Court, an impressive Jacobean mansion built in the early 1600s and officially listed as Grade I for its outstanding architectural importance. The house displays the skilled stonework and thoughtful design details that characterise its era, reflecting the considerable wealth and status of those who built it. The court remains a private residence and isn't open to visitors, but you can still take in its exterior and grounds from the surrounding area.
The setting really is lovely. The River Coln flows just south of the property, offering pleasant walks along the water meadows. The hamlet's location works well as a base for exploring the wider valley, and it's only a short walk or drive to Bibury village itself, where you'll find the well-known Arlington Row cottages, a working trout farm, and various cafes and shops.
This area works best as part of a broader exploration rather than a standalone destination. It's easily reached from nearby towns like Cirencester and Cheltenham, and the surrounding countryside offers excellent walking routes throughout the year.
