Grove itself is pleasant enough, though visitors typically see it as a stop on the way to nearby Wantage, which is really the main attraction in this part of the world. Wantage is a proper market town with independent shops and a working marketplace that's worth exploring in its own right. If you're travelling between larger places like Faringdon and Abingdon, calling in here for a coffee and fresh pastry makes practical sense, and you'll eat considerably better than you might expect to find at a roadside stop.
