This substantial manor house forms the centerpiece of Haresfield and ranks among the Cotswolds' finest examples of Tudor architecture.

Built mainly during the 16th century with subsequent additions and alterations that have shaped its character over the intervening centuries, it holds Grade I listing status in recognition of its exceptional historical and architectural importance.

Although Haresfield Court remains a private residence closed to public tours, walking the surrounding countryside gives you a genuine appreciation of its scale and significance. The setting itself is particularly rewarding—you're just a short walk from Haresfield Beacon, a National Trust property offering expansive views across the Severn Vale towards the Forest of Dean once you've made the climb. The area excels for walking, especially if you want to experience the Cotswolds escarpment properly.

The location also serves as a solid base for exploration beyond the immediate surroundings. Stroud lies a modest distance to the south—a functioning market town where independent retailers and a regular farmers' market justify a trip in themselves. Head north instead and you'll reach Gloucester, where the cathedral and revitalised docks represent the main attractions. So while the manor's interior remains off limits, the landscape and communities around it offer plenty to fill your time.
