You'll find this viewpoint sitting above Ashton Under Hill, and it's one of those places that really shows you what the Cotswolds are all about.

From this natural high point, the views spread across the Vale of Evesham, and when the weather's clear, you can make out the Malvern Hills on the distant horizon. There's not much to do here except stand and look, but that's precisely the point — it's a spot where the landscape does the talking, and you can watch how the patchwork of fields and scattered villages fade into the green.

The viewpoint works well as either a starting or stopping point for a walk, with several footpaths threading through the surrounding countryside. You can easily pair a visit with a wander down to Ashton Under Hill itself, where you'll find the characteristic stone cottages and church that define so many villages in this area. For shops, cafes, and proper facilities, Evesham is close by, or you could head towards Broadway if you fancy exploring a larger village. While there's no particular historical event attached to this rise, standing here gives you a tangible sense of the agricultural rhythms and natural geology that have defined this corner of England over centuries. It's the kind of place that puts the wider Cotswold landscape into perspective.
