Eastcourt is a small hamlet in Crudwell, Wiltshire, that developed around a former manorial estate.
The manor house remains at its heart, and the property's history is genuinely part of what makes the place distinctive. Sitting in northern Wiltshire close to the Gloucestershire border, it's conveniently positioned within the broader Cotswolds region and offers easy access to the wider countryside.
The hamlet itself is genuinely quiet and rural, much like many of the smaller settlements you'll find dotted throughout this corner of England. There's not a great deal to do right here — it's more about the atmosphere and the chance to experience a slower pace of life. If you need shops or a few more services, Crudwell village nearby has what you'd expect from a village centre and is worth popping into. The manor estate, which remains a private residence, gives the hamlet most of its character and historical weight.
This is the sort of place that suits visitors who want to experience the quieter, more understated side of Cotswolds living. You might wander through for an hour or two, or use it as a comfortable base for exploring the green, rolling landscape that surrounds it. The countryside here is genuinely lovely for walking, and if you simply want to be somewhere peaceful and rural, Eastcourt delivers exactly that.
