If you're keen on cycling, the developing Cotswold Line Cycle Route is worth keeping on your radar.

The project is creating a path that largely shadows the scenic railway corridor, linking together the towns and villages that sit along it. It's still very much being built in stages, but the aim is to offer a relatively gentle, accessible way to experience this part of the region by bike, mostly away from main roads.

You won't yet find a complete, fully signposted route from end to end. That said, the area around Adlestrop offers plenty of lovely existing lanes and bridleways for cycling right now. The village itself has real character, particularly because of its old railway station, which was famously immortalised by poet Edward Thomas in his work. It's a peaceful place to stop and reflect on the railway's history.

For cycling at the moment, consider exploring the quiet country roads spreading out from Adlestrop towards Moreton-in-Marsh, which is just a short ride away and has shops and cafes. You could also link up with other established local cycling routes in the area. The best approach is to check with local cycling groups and follow the project's updates so you know when new sections officially open. As more stretches are completed, you'll have an increasingly connected network to explore across this lovely corner of the Cotswolds.
