This campsite near Hempton sits on or very close to the historic Cheyney Manor House estate, offering a straightforward base for exploring the Cotswolds.
The site is spacious and quiet, welcoming tents, caravans, and motorhomes with plenty of room to spread out after days of exploring.
What works well here is the location and relaxed atmosphere. You're positioned right in classic Cotswold countryside, which means easy access to walking routes through fields and past traditional stone villages. The cycling is particularly good, with scenic routes winding through the gentle hills. The manor house nearby gives the whole place a sense of established character and history, even if there aren't formal gardens attached to the campsite itself.
For supplies and amenities, Banbury is close by with its shops, cafes, and pubs. If you want to venture further, Chipping Norton makes an excellent day trip, full of antique shops and independent businesses worth browsing. Both towns are short drives away, so you're never far from what you need.
The real appeal is straightforward: you get a comfortable, unpretentious place to stay while being surrounded by the kind of landscape and quietness that makes the Cotswolds worth visiting. It's ideal if you want to wake up in the countryside and spend your days on foot or by bike, without needing much more than a comfortable base to return to.
