This 100-mile circular walking route takes you through the Warwickshire side of the Cotswolds, offering a thorough exploration of the landscape without committing to one epic trek.

22 km 4h 24min hard

Many walkers break it into shorter sections over a few days, though serious hikers can certainly tackle the full loop. The terrain varies nicely as you go, moving between open farmland with far-reaching views, peaceful woodland, and stretches that follow gentle rivers like the Avon.

The route connects several worthwhile stops along the way. Stratford-upon-Avon is a natural highlight if you want to combine walking with Shakespeare's world. You'll also pass through market towns like Alcester and Henley-in-Arden, each with their own identity and offering good spots to rest, eat, or simply absorb the local character. The path itself was created back in 1974 to celebrate the centenary of Warwickshire County Council, adding a bit of local significance to your journey.

Whether you're looking for a proper challenge or prefer gentle walks between villages, this trail covers the northern part of the region comprehensively. The variety keeps things interesting, and there's enough infrastructure at the towns along the way to make logistics straightforward. Just wear proper walking shoes and you'll be set for a rewarding time exploring this part of the Cotswolds.
