If you're looking for a corner of the Cotswolds that feels a little less crowded than the big-name villages, the area around Bredon Hill and its base villages like Sedgeberrow deserves consideration.
What makes this place special is the hill itself—a striking standalone landmark that gives the whole area a real sense of space and open views in every direction.
The main draw here is walking Bredon Hill. The paths take you through woodland and across open fields as you climb, and when you reach the top, you're looking out across the Vale of Evesham, toward the Malverns, and on clear days even into Wales. You'll find traces of an Iron Age hill fort up there, along with a distinctive stone tower that locals call the Folly—both reminders that people have been attracted to this spot for thousands of years.
The villages scattered around the base, like Sedgeberrow, give you a genuine sense of how traditional Cotswolds communities function. They're generally quieter than the tourist hotspots, which makes them ideal for a leisurely afternoon exploring on foot or stopping in at the local pub. If you need more shops or restaurants, Evesham is a short drive away, and Broadway—one of the area's most popular villages—is also easily within reach for a day trip. This works well as a base if you enjoy walking and prefer a more relaxed pace.
