Arambha is a boutique establishment in Elkstone, one of those quieter corners of the Cotswolds where you still get a genuine sense of rural England.
The village revolves around honey-coloured stone buildings and maintains a peaceful atmosphere that genuinely feels like an escape from the busier parts of the region.
The main reason to visit Elkstone is St John the Baptist, the village church. It's one of the best-preserved examples of Norman architecture around, and stepping inside gives you a real feel for the centuries of local history woven into its stones and architectural details.
Arambha works well as a comfortable base for exploring the area. You're perfectly positioned for gentle walks through the rolling countryside immediately around the village, or for visiting other classic Cotswold villages and market towns at your own pace without rushing.
When you want more activity, Cheltenham is a short drive away with its Regency architecture, wider range of shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions. Cirencester, often called the Capital of the Cotswolds, is equally accessible and combines Roman heritage with proper market town character. It's the kind of place to stay if you're after understated charm with easy access to both countryside and history.
