This small village sits near Broadway, one of the Cotswolds' most appealing market towns, and works well as a base for exploring the rolling countryside around it.
Most visitors come for Broadway Tower, an impressive 18th-century limestone structure perched on the hilltop above the village. The hexagonal tower reaches 65 feet high with distinctive round corner turrets and battlements—the sort of thing wealthy landowners built across their estates during that era. Don't assume it's purely decorative though; it's actually a fully functional building with proper rooms inside.
The climb to the top rewards you with sweeping views across the Cotswolds and beyond on clear days, thanks to its location at over 1,000 feet elevation on Broadway Hill. The upper three floors house a small museum covering the tower's history and the surrounding landscape. The grounds around it are pleasant for wandering, and there's a café where you can rest after tackling the stairs.
The village itself is very quiet and rural, so you'll need to venture into Broadway town centre for shops, restaurants and pubs. It's roughly thirty minutes by car from both Cheltenham and Worcester, which makes it reasonably convenient whether you're based locally or making a day trip from elsewhere in the region.
