At the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, right where Warwickshire meets Oxfordshire, you'll find a striking spot known for its wide-ranging views.
This prominent hill offers expansive vistas across the surrounding landscape, perfect for those who appreciate open skies and rolling countryside. From here, you can gaze out over the South Warwickshire plain and towards the Edgehill escarpment, where the land dramatically drops away. It’s a fantastic place to simply take in the horizon, watch the seasons change the fields below, or begin a walk along the various public rights of way that crisscross the area.
The area holds significant historical weight, particularly due to its proximity to the site of the Battle of Edgehill. In 1642, this landscape was witness to the first major engagement of the English Civil War. While the main fighting was slightly further along the escarpment, this viewpoint would have offered a commanding perspective over the unfolding events. You’ll find this peaceful spot just a short distance from Middle Tysoe, with Lower Tysoe and Upper Tysoe also very close by. It’s an easy drive from villages like Christmas Corner, Edgehill, Shenington, and Radway, making it a great stop if you're exploring this part of the region.
