When the sun's out, Newbury's splash park at the Northcroft Leisure Centre is an excellent way to spend a few hours if you've got children along.

Do check opening times before heading over, as the facility operates seasonally and hours vary throughout the year. The splash park is right in Newbury itself, a historic market town that sits on the River Kennet with plenty of shops and restaurants within easy reach. This means you can easily pair a trip here with a wander around town or grab lunch somewhere nearby. If you're staying in the area and want to explore beyond Newbury, both Thatcham and Hungerford are close by and well worth a visit.
