This historic manor in the village of Birtsmorton sits on the Worcestershire edge of the Cotswolds, a fine example of traditional country architecture that's been standing for centuries.

As a private residence, it's not open to visitors, but that doesn't mean you can't appreciate what's here. You can see the elegant exterior from the lanes surrounding the property, where it commands views across the rolling Worcestershire hills.

It's worth including in a gentle walk through the area if you're interested in how these old estates shaped the English countryside. There's real value in observing the building itself and thinking about the lives lived within it over the generations, even if you're viewing from outside the gates.

Birtsmorton works well as a stopping point on a wider exploration of the region. Ledbury, with its distinctive half-timbered high street and market heritage, is nearby and draws plenty of visitors. Malvern, a traditional spa town with excellent walking on the surrounding hills, is equally accessible. Tewkesbury, slightly further afield, showcases impressive medieval buildings and occupies a dramatic position where two rivers meet. All three make natural bases if you're spending time in this corner of the Cotswolds and want somewhere with more facilities and attractions.
