Between Brockworth and the small settlement of Bentham sits a substantial manor house that really demonstrates what Cotswold architecture is all about.

This is a private residence, so you won't be able to explore the interior, but the exterior tells you plenty about the area's history and building traditions. The house spans several centuries of development, with foundations likely reaching back to Tudor times or earlier, and you can see how successive periods have left their mark on the structure—something you'll notice repeatedly as you explore the Cotswolds.

The grounds sit within the classic rolling landscape that defines this part of the country, making it a pleasant place to pause during a walk and take in the views. The location is fairly central to some larger destinations worth visiting. Gloucester lies nearby with its cathedral and substantial Roman heritage, while Cheltenham, just a short drive away, offers Regency architecture and a busy cultural calendar if you want more to do. But the real appeal here is the quieter side of things—Brockworth and Bentham give you that genuine rural character the Cotswolds are known for. The manor is very much part of that local identity, contributing to the sense of place even if you're admiring it from the road rather than stepping inside.
